BUILDING DAMAGED IN FROSTBURG FIRE
Frostburg Fire Department quickly controlled a fire in a two-story building at 105-107 East Main Street shortly before Noon today.
Flames were first discovered in the basement of the old Duchess Restaurant, which now houses a pool room on the first floor and three apartments on the second floor.John Preston, who owns the structure and operates the pool room first smelled smoke about 10:45am. He opened the cellar door and smoke and flames poured out. Residents of the apartments were evacuated as the fire spread up the back of the building to the roof.
