FINZEL — Three drivers were injured when a tractor-trailer crashed on eastbound Interstate 68 early Thursday and then was struck by a trailing tractor-trailer and then a pick-up truck, according to Maryland State Police.

At 1 a.m., troopers from the McHenry barrack responded to the accident that occurred in the area of the 26-mile marker.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a tractor trailer operated by Kentucky resident Shalah Nobles, 40, lost control of his vehicle and overturned blocking all of the eastbound lanes. Police said another tractor trailer operated by Gregory Korns, 59, of Midlothian, struck the overturned vehicle and then struck a guardrail. A pickup truck operated by Sylvan Wiland, 64, of Grantsville, was following behind the two vehicles and also struck the overturned trailer.

All three vehicles were disabled as a result of the collision, police said. All three drivers were taken by ambulance to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center as was Kevin Temple, 29, of Michigan), who was passenger in the rig operated by Nobles.
Police said there were no life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

Maryland State Highway Administration responded to the scene to coordinate traffic control. Allegany County Department Emergency Services Hazmat Team responded to control a fuel spill that was caused by the collision
