Doug joined this great organization on June 26, 1979 and throughout the years, has provided dedicated service and leadership as both an administrative and fire line officer.

When we post these anniversary announcements, we always mention “the member has performed hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands ofman hours of training and service in an effort to continue the rich traditions of the FFD.” In this case, we can’t begin to imagine the hours that Doug has served this department. He had tens of thousands of hours in “fire prevention” alone in the ‘80’s & ‘90’s!

Doug moved back to Frostburg in 2014 after retiring as a Battalion Chief from the Montgomery County Fire-Rescue Department, after wrapping up a 30 year career. The following year he served as the department’s Fire Chief and today Doug is a driver, training adviser and is a member of the Apparatus Selection Committee (ASC) writing specifications for the new engine.

On behalf of the entire Department and the citizens of Frostburg and surrounding areas, thank you and happy 37th Chief!!
