The Frostburg Elks Lodge #470 recently applied for and received three grants from the Elks National Foundation Community Investment Program. This year the Foundation allocated $14.6 million to fund 4,000 grants to local lodges to support projects in their communities. Frostburg Lodge chose the Frostburg Fire Department (FFD) to receive $1,500 of a $2,500 Gratitude Grant and were approved to combine a Beacon Grant and a Spotlight Grant totaling $5,500.The $7,000 will be used by the FFD to help offset the cost of purchasing 28 Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) to replace current units which have reached their end-of-service life.
