The Frostburg Elks Lodge #470 recently applied for and received three grants from the Elks National Foundation Community Investment Program. This year the Foundation allocated $14.6 million to fund 4,000 grants to local lodges to support projects in their communities.  Frostburg Lodge chose the Frostburg Fire Department (FFD) to receive $1,500 of a $2,500 Gratitude Grant and were approved to combine a Beacon Grant and a Spotlight Grant totaling $5,500.

The $7,000 will be used by the FFD to help offset the cost of purchasing 28 Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) to replace current units which have reached their end-of-service life.

“On behalf of all FFD members we are extremely grateful for the generous donation to help us continue to protect life, property, and environment for the citizens in and around Frostburg.” said FFD President Todd Logsdon.
