Frostburg State Assists with Recruitment Video

The FFD is working with Dr. John Lombardi; Professor of Mass Communication, FSU and his staff on a recruitment video. This week they are wrapping up interviews and will start accompanying us on calls and capturing other footage. Final product should be finished in June!

Passing of Brother, Ed George

It is with regret and deep sadness that we report the passing of Frostburg Fire Department Brother Edward W. (Ed) George.
Ed joined the FFD on November 26, 1974 serving with pride for 44+ years. He served as the department’s Treasurer for many years and was bestowed the Firefighter of the Year award in 1989.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Jean, son Taylor, daughter Kathryn and their entire family.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Saturday, April 13 from 4 to 7 pm. The Frostburg Fire Department will hold a Memorial Service at 6:30pm.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Minister Steven Hershberger officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial

Local business, Hamilton Relay, again donates!
FFD Assistant Fire Chief/PIO, Matt McMorran is shown receiving a $500 check from Hamilton Relay Center Manager, Donte Bibbins.
Hamilton Relay consistently provides financially in an effort for the FFD to continue with our mission of, "protecting life, property and the environment to the citizens of Frostburg and surrounding areas.
We couldn't do it without local businesses like Hamilton Relay and we sincerely appreciate their help," said FFD President Bill Price.

Fire Guts Old Inn - The Clarysville structure dates back to 1807
FROSTBURG - An apparent accidental fire destroyed the 192-year-old Clarysville Inn early Wednesday and left a family of five who operated businesses there for the past four years homeless along with two other tenants.
``I've never been in this position before," said Tom Pecora, who operated the businesses at the Clarysville Inn since March 1995, when he and his family left behind a successful catering business in Baltimore for a new life in Allegany County.
