Manufacturer Recall

Walter Kidde Portable Equipment Inc. (“Kidde”) in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall to replace certain Kidde AC/DC smoke alarms and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms.

Name of Products:
i12010S –10 Year Hardwired Smoke Alarm – manufactured 12/18/13 through 5/13/14.

i12010SCO – 10 Year Hardwired Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm – manufactured 12/30/13 through 5/13/14

KN-COSM-IBA – Combination Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Alarm (front-load battery model only) – manufactured from 10/22/13 through 5/13/14

These units are AC/DC powered and capable of hardwired interconnect. They have a Kidde logo on the face of the unit.  The model number is on the label on the back of the unit.

Length of Service Anniversary

Joe "Hollywood" Persichetti’s "Length of Service" anniversary posting is a day late. So please help us congratulate him.

Joe joined this great organization on September 11th of 2012 and has certainly proved that he has what it takes to be a member of the FFD brotherhood and continuing our rich traditions. Joe is also a firefighter in his hometown department in Pennsylvania; South Baldwin Volunteer Fire Company

Hollywood is a junior at FSU and is part of the FFD "Live-In" program residing in the squirrels nest next door to the Price Station fire house.

Length of Service Anniversaries

Please help us congratulate Justin Edwards, Todd Logsdon, Leroy Gomer and Daniel Gomer on their "Length of Service" anniversaries.

All joined this great organization on today’s date in an effort to continue the rich traditions of the FFD.

Justin joined in 2002 and throughout the years, provided dedicated service and leadership as both a Line and Administrative officer including his current role as a Fire Captain.

Todd, Leroy and Dan all transferred from Station 14 last year, and are celebrating their first anniversary. All are huge assets to the FFD and we are lucky to have them on our team.

In addition to firefighting duties, Todd is a primary apparatus operator and currently serves on the Apparatus Research Committee (ARC) in defining specifications for our future

Please help us congratulate Harry “Wink” Wolford on his "Length of Service" anniversary.Wink joined this great organization on this date in 1975 and throughout the years, provided dedicated service and leadership as both a Line and Administrative officer. Wink is a past President of the department and held that office 15 years between 1984 & 2008.

Over the years, Wink has performed thousands of man hours of training and service in an effort to continue the rich traditions of the FFD.

Length of Service Anniversary

Please help us congratulate JB Hovatter on his "Length of Service" anniversary.

Jay joined this great organization on this date in 1989 and throughout the years, provided dedicated service and leadership as both a Line and Administrative officer including Deputy Fire Chief and in his current role as FFIII/Captain. He has been the Fire Prevention Chairman for 14+ years, which is a year-round responsibility to include FSU campus and school visits, annual fishing rodeo and numerous other safety and fire prevention events.

Currently, Jay serves as the Chairman of the Apparatus Research Committee (ARC), assists with department training and is an instructor with the Maryland Fire Rescue Institute (MFRI). All this while serving as a Lieutenant with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department

Length of Service Anniversary

Please help us congratulate Sam McCulloh on his "Length of Service" anniversary.

Sam joined this great organization as a 3rd generation member on this date in 1961 and throughout the years, provided dedicated service and leadership as both a Line and Administrative officer and roles in fire prevention and numerous years as the crab feast chairman. You'll still see Sam marching in every parade proudly leading the procession while carrying the Department banner!

Over the years, Sam has performed tens of thousands of man hours of training and service in an effort to continue the rich traditions of the FFD.
