Recruitment

FFD_RecruitmentThe Frostburg Fire Department (FFD) is always looking for dedicated, hard working individuals (locals or students) as we constantly strive to build our membership to support our 100% VOLUNTEER staffing. Volunteering in the fire department is a unique experience that can be as rewarding and educational as you choose to make it.  Motivation, dedication and professionalism are qualities that successful volunteers must possess.

Members of the FFD not only possess these qualities, but are continuously seeking to further their knowledge and skills as well.  No previous experience is necessary, all training and equipment is provided as well as participation in the Length of Service Awards Program (LOSAP) and the Personnel Subtraction Modification Programs.

The FFD also has a “student live-in” program where up to five students can live in the “Squirrel Den” (a house adjacent to the Water Street firehouse) while attending FSU or Allegany College.  For more details email us at frostburgfd@frostburgfd.com.

So, if you are 18 years of age or older and interested in becoming a member of a great organization and helping others in the community, stop by one of our stations, introduce yourself and ask for an application.
