Length of Service Anniversary

Please help us congratulate Gary Tummino on his "Length of Service" anniversary. Gary joined this great organization on October 27, 1970 and throughout the years, provided dedicated service and leadership as both an administrative and fire line officer, including Fire Chief for more than 14 years and his current role as the Department Treasurer.

Over the years, he has performed tens of thousands of man hours of training and service in an effort to continue the rich traditions of the FFD.

On behalf of the entire Department and the citizens of Frostburg and surrounding areas, thank you and happy 44th!!

Urgent Air Bag Warning: Updated List of Cars That Should Be Fixed

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued an urgent plea to a total of 7.8 million car owners in the U.S. whose air bag inflators have been recalled to get them repaired. The air bags, especially in areas along the coast with high absolute humidity, have inflators that can rupture. If the air bags go off in a crash, that can send shrapnel into the passenger compartment and injure people.


The NHTSA said that its warning was especially urgent for owners affected by recalls in these areas: Florida, Puerto Rico, limited areas near the Gulf of Mexico in Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Louisiana, as well as Guam, Saipan, American Samoa, Virgin Islands and Hawaii.

Length of Service Anniversary

The Officers and Members of the Frostburg Fire Department (FFD) ask that you help us celebrate the “Length of Service” anniversary of Emory D. Lancaster.

Emory joined the FFD on October 22, 1957 and has faithfully served the Department, City and surrounding communities continuously for more than 57 years. He is the oldest surviving member of the Department and has served more years than any other member.

During his volunteer fire service career he attended numerous fire training courses offered through the Maryland Fire Rescue Institute (MFRI) and served as a FFD Fire Captain, Assistant Chief and Trustee. Emory also served on numerous committees during his career. He was certified to drive all of the Department’s fire apparatus and was given the distinct Fireman of the Year award
