Dick became a FFD Honorary Firefighter on October 27, 1981 serving with pride for 33 years. He was not the typical honorary member. Dick was an “active” honorary member and geared up for fire calls and vehicle collisions and he loved going to the elementary schools teaching the Hug-A-Tree program and fire safety.

He also served his community as a member of the Frostburg Area Ambulance Service (FAAS), Crime Search Team and was also a member of the Civil Air Patrol.

Dick served his country in WWII in the U.S. Navy as a gunners mate on board the USS Murphy, participating in the D-Day invasion.

FFD members had just recently visited with Dick and his family to celebrate his 90th birthday. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fuller family.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Earl Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Frostburg Memorial Park.

Military honors will be accorded by Farrady Post 24 and Frostburg Fire Department life members will serve as pallbearers.
