Matt informed Mark and Laura that the department was attempting to raise funds for roll-away bunk beds, so crews could sleep in quarters during snow storms. The cost for eight bunks, four at each station would be approximately $1,550.

Mark suggested that Matt, who was a bar tender and manager at Giuseppe’s from 1982 – ’97, return for a guest bar tending appearance. He also suggested having Andy Smith, son of the late Mac Smith (Pour House) assist with serving the famous and authentic Blue Dart cocktail. So cousins Matt and Andy donned Mac’s aprons and reported for duty.

The event was conducted on Saturday, October 3rd to coincide with FSU homecoming festivities. $600 were raised in Blue Dart sales and another $350 in “boot” donations. Mark and Laura generously donated an additional $600, so the FFD could reach their goal.

Having crews in the firehouse during snow/ice storms, saves an incredible amount of time in responding for emergencies in our community.

On behalf of the entire Frostburg Fire Department, THANK YOU!
