Length of Service Anniversary

Please help us congratulate Bill Price on his "Length of Service" anniversary. He joined this great organization on December 12, 1972 and currently serves the department as the Vice President and Chief Engineer.Over the years, Bill has performed tens of thousands of man hours of training and dedicated service in an effort to continue the rich traditions of the FFD. Bill continues to be one of the main apparatus drivers and is always in the running for the annual "Most Activities" award.
On behalf of the entire Department and the citizens of Frostburg and surrounding areas, THANK YOU and happy 43rd anniversary!!

ON THIS DAY IN FFD HISTORY - 2012Firefighters from three counties, Allegany, Garrett and Mineral, WV, battled a fire at a building at 16 Broadway in Frostburg late Saturday. The building once housed the city’s magistrate court, said Mayor Robert Flanigan. Frostburg firefighter’s found heavy fire when they arrived at the scene following alert from the Allegany County 911 Center at 8:30 p.m. The fire was reported to be under control at 9:40 p.m.
A Maryland Deputy State Fire Marshal began his investigation into the blaze about 10:20 p.m., when the fire was reported out. At least two victims were taken from the scene for treatment at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. The American Red Cross was called to assist residents who lived in the building.
