Both joined this great organization on June 25, 1990 and 1984 respectively and throughout the years, provided dedicated service and leadership as both firefighters and administrative & line officers.

Buzz is celebrating 26 years of continuous service and has held numerous line officer ranks including Assistant Chief. He is currently a firefighter and driver. Buzz is also a certified MD Fire Rescue Institute (MFRI) instructor. He does this while serving as a Captain with the Cumberland Fire Department (CFD)!

Matt rose through the fire line ranks to serve as Deputy Fire Chief but after 14+ years of service he left the area in 1997 and was made an Honorary Firefighter. Matt rejoined the active ranks in 2012 and reports for duty from Fairfax, VA several times a month and currently serves as the Head Trustee and Public Information Officer.

Over the years, both have performed tens of thousands of man hours of training and service in an effort to continue the rich traditions of the FFD. Currently, both serve on the department’s Apparatus Selection Committee (ASC) writing specifications for a new Engine.

On behalf of the entire Department and the citizens of Frostburg and surrounding areas, THANK YOU and happy 26th and 32nd anniversary!!
