Another example of some great things our FSU Students are accomplishing: Bryan Whitmore, a graduate student in the Applied Ecology and Conservation Biology Program, was part of the “Maryland 2” (MDS2) fire crew sent to the Buckskin fire near Sandpoint, Idaho.

MDS2 was also sent to contain and mop up the Uleda and Derr fires during its 14-day assignment and was assigned as the initial attack crew that had to respond to new fire starts on the 2.5 million acre Coeur D’Alene National Forest.

He was one of the 40 members selected out of the 120 registered wildland fire fighters in Maryland to be part of the fire crew sent to fight fires in Idaho/Montana this summer. #FSUPride
