CONGRATULATIONS BOBCAT BASEBALL!Even though the FSU Bobcat's impressive and record-setting 2015 season came to a close Monday night in the semifinals of the NCAA Baseball Championship, the FFD helped welcome our champions home last night.
The second-ranked Bobcats lost to top-ranked SUNY Cortland in an elimination game at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton WI.
Frostburg caps its season with a 43-9 overall record and was one of the final four teams left standing in all of NCAA Division III baseball.

Blaze Discovered at 5:45 o’clock - Raged for Five Hours - Business Section is Threatened - Lonaconing, Midland and Cumberland Firemen are Called and Help to Extinguish Fire - Woolworth and Stanton & Son Heavy Losers.
Frostburg, May 17 - The Lyric Theatre building on Main Street, valued at $50,000, was practically destroyed by fire, which was discovered at 5:45 O’clock this morning, and which raged for several hours and threatened at one time the entire business section of Frostburg. The fire was discovered by Hugh Spier, who turned in the alarm.

Mountain Ridge “Unified” Track Team

Please help us congratulate FFD member Bruce Smith on his "Length of Service" anniversary. Bruce joined this great organization on May 13, 1975 and throughout the years, provided dedicated service and leadership as both Administrative & Line officer. Bruce is celebrating 40 years of service. He was elected Head Trustee and served on numerous committees during his tenure. Bruce received the “Firemen of the Year” award in 1988.Over the years, Bruce has performed tens of thousands of man hours of training and service in an effort to continue the rich traditions of the FFD.

Bobby joined this great organization on May 8, 1979, and throughout the years, provided dedicated service and leadership as both an administrative & line officer. Bobby is celebrating 36 years of service. He rose through the ranks to hold every fire line position including Fire Chief in 1988 & ’89. Bobby was a certified MD Fire Rescue Institute (MFRI) instructor, the Department Training Officer and very active with the FFD Fire Prevention program.
